Gentry residence twice burglarized n Thief returns for more ammunition and power cord

GENTRY -- Police are investigating two separate incidents of criminal mischief and theft at the home of Andrew Husband in Gentry.

On March 23, police were dispatched to the home of Husband, located on Windsor Court, where Husband reported the theft of a 9 mm handgun, ammunition and a laptop computer, according to police reports. Other items were broken and it appeared as if items had been thrown across the room and broken, according to reports.

Police were notified that Husband's home had been burglarized a second time on March 25, according to police reports. This time, additional 9 mm ammunition and the power cord to the laptop were reported missing.

According to police, the handgun was later recovered by another agency and in the possession of a felon. The felon would not disclose how he had obtained the handgun, according to police.

Police indicated they had a prime suspect in the Gentry case but needed additional information to obtain an arrest warrant.

Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to contact the Gentry Police Department at 736-8400.
