DECATUR -- The Decatur Bulldog baseball team played a double header against the Rebels of Johnson County Westside at Edmiston Park in Decatur April 1.

In the first game, Brody Funk was at the mound for the Bulldogs. He pitched a good game, striking out several Rebel batters. However, several fielding errors cost him the game as Decatur lost, 9 to 0.

Jay Porter was on the mound for the second game of the double header. Once again fielding errors hurt the Bulldogs and the Rebels took that game, 12 to 2.

Throughout both games, Coach Jason Porter reminded each of his players to "keep your head in the game."

Most of Westside Rebels' scores were the result of stolen bases and throwing errors by the Bulldogs.

"We have to get into the games if we want to win these games," Porter reminded his players afterward.

The Bulldogs are currently 0 and 5 overall.

The next games for the Decatur baseball team will be April 15 at 4 p.m at home in Edmiston Park against the Elkins Elks.
