GRAVETTE -- Wendy Catron, RN, school nurse at Glenn Duffy Elementary School in Gravette, was honored by the Gravette Board of Education for her "outstanding performance and exceptional commitment to the staff and students of the Gravette School District."

The announcement was made at a recent school board meeting. Because nurse Catron was unable to attend, she was presented the award at a "Rise and Shine" assembly at the school. School board president Danny Alsup made the presentation.

Nurse Catron worked in home health and labor and delivery positions for years, she said, but her "work with elementary school children is especially rewarding."

"We are very proud of the care and concern Nurse Catron has for the children in our school," Principal Zane Vanderpool said. "She is a valuable asset, not only to our students, but also to parents and staff."
