Gravette PD plans special projects

GRAVETTE -- Sgt. James Rusterholz, of the Gravette Police Department, announced the department will participate in two special projects on the last Saturday of April.

April 26 has been designated "Arkansas Take Back Day" when persons throughout the state, including Gravette, will be focusing on the collection of unwanted, unused and expired prescription drugs.

"You can make a difference by keeping prescription drugs away from our kids," Sgt. Rusterholz said.

In conjunction with the collection of drugs, persons are encouraged to drop off food donations at the Gravette police station as part of a statewide "Arkansas Hunger Relief" drive, which will benefit the NWA food bank.

Rusterholz said this is an effort to keep our communities drug free and hunger free. Canned food (only commercially canned) and other nonperishable items are always needed and will be appreciated.

If unable to participate, citizens are reminded a drug collection box is available 24/7 at the entrance of the police station.
