Pea Ridge gets by Gentry in first inning

GENTRY -- Though the Lady Pioneers out batted the visiting Pea Ridge Lady Blackhawks on April 8, they were unable to get a runner across the plate and overcome the 3-0 deficit inflicted on them in the first inning of the game.

Jordan Olds and Brooke Boston each were two for three with the bat. Samantha Curran, Christina Campbell, Jaime Pierce and Courtney Brown also picked up hits, but each time Pea Ridge managed to shut down Gentry before the Lady Pioneers could capitalize on their hits.

Jordan Olds pitched seven innings for Gentry, struck out nine Pea Ridge batters and walked none. Jerika Schooley, pitching for Pea Ridge, struck out eight.

The final was 3-0, Pea Ridge.
