Fire Destroys Home In Sulphur Springs

Photo by Dodie Evans A fire early Easter morning destroyed an unoccupied house on Black Avenue in Sulphur Springs. According to Sulphur Springs fire chief John Varner, the blaze was reported at about 6 a.m. when the front portion of the house was already ablaze. The fire spread rapidly engulfing almost the entire two-story structure. The home, at one time was occupied by Dr. J. H. Beard, who lived in Sulphur Springs many years. Varner was unable to verify the present owner of the structure and added the cause of the fire is still under investigation. He expressed thanks to the Gravette and Maysville fire departments for their assistance.
