Gentry has mixed results on ball diamond

GENTRY -- The Lady Pioneers ran away with Friday night's game against Green Forest, racking up 22 hits and 19 runs in the four-inning game, and allowed Green Forest to put only three runs on the board.

Green Forest took the lead with a solo run in the top of the first, but after that it was all Gentry. The Lady Pioneers answered with two runs in the first, six in the second, five in the third and another six in the fourth to finish off Green Forest.

Rebecca Evans was four for four with her bat and led her teammates with six runs batted in. She doubled in the first inning, singled in the second and homered in the third and fourth innings. Jordan Olds and Brook Boston also batted four for four. Olds had four RBIs and Boston, two. Christina Campbell gave her team momentum when she knocked one out of the park in the second inning to put another three Gentry runs on the board.

Olds pitched for the Lady Pioneers. She allowed three runs over four innings, struck out eight, walked one and gave up four hits.

Ozark 8

Gentry 0

In Thursday's game against Ozark, the Lady Pioneers were held scoreless, while the Lady Hillbillies managed three runs in the first and fifth and an additional run in each of the final two innings. Jordan Olds was on the mound for Gentry. She struck out six.

Prairie Grove 7

Gentry 0

The Lady Pioneers were also shut out by the Lady Tigers of Prairie Grove on April 17, losing the game 7-0. Prairie Grove took the lead in the third with three runs and built on that lead through the seventh. Jordan Olds struck out nine in the game.

Gentry 10

Berryville 0

On April 15, the Lady Pioneers defeated the Lady Bobcats of Berryville, 10-0, in four innings of play at Berryville. Olds not only pitched a shut-out game, allowing Berryville only one hit, she was three for four with her bat and batted in four runs.

Against Ozark on Thursday, the Pioneers had the lead but couldn't quite hold it. The Ozark Hillbillies came back to win the contest, 3-1, in a hard-fought game.
