Gravette to hold citywide cleanup

GRAVETTE -- Gravette's citywide spring cleanup will be next week, May 5-9, according to an announcement from Gravette City Hall.

This annual event provides citizens a way to dispose of bulky items at no charge. Such items will be picked up at curbside by Deffenbaugh, which contracts for the city's weekly garbage pickup. Curbside pickup for bulky items will be on regular pickup days, Tuesday for Gravette and Thursday for the Hiwasse area.

The city emphasizes there will be no charge. However, there will be certain restrictions on the type of items eligible, such as electronic devices, TVs and computers.

Tires and items deemed hazardous cannot be disposed of in this way. For information and a list of such items, contact the Benton County Solid Waste District, 795-0751.

The BCSW district will locate a trailer in Gravette May 2-9 as a drop-off point where electronic items may be taken for disposal at no charge.
