DECATUR --The Decatur School system will host an open house for parents and students Aug. 14 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Northside Elementary and 5:30 p.m to 7:30 p.m. at both Decatur High School and Decatur Middle School.
Students at Northside will pick up their packets and meet their new teachers during this time. A transportation map will be available for parents and students to get their bus assignments. Students may bring school supplies to the open house to be stored in their classrooms in preparation for the first day of classes Aug. 18.
Students of both the high school and middle school will need to go to the lobby of Decatur High School to pick up their 2014-15 class schedules and meet new faculty members.
The sixth through eighth grade students, once they receive their schedules, will be escorted to Decatur Middle School where they will get a guided tour of the facility by the new middle school principal, Toby Conrad.
