GRAVETTE -- Eighteen members of the Gravette High School Class of 1964 enjoyed a 50-year reunion dinner Saturday evening, Aug. 9, at the Gravette High School commons.

Class members and their spouses attending included Phyllis (Edgmon) Burnett, Kathy (Hart) and Lynn Duncan, Oliver and Mary Jo Duncan, Glenda (Galyean) Eldred, Dickey Harris, Susan (Douglas) Holland, Bob and Sandy (Parnham) Kelley, Stella (Shanklin) LaBounty, Marcia (Ward) and Jerry Pritchard, Beulah (Payne) Rice, Max and Shirley Wallace, all of Gravette.

Attending from out of town were Fred and Linda Bunch, Donald and Nancy Payne, all of Bentonville, Herman and Liz Smith of Hiwasse, Murel (Black) Collins of Pineville, Mo., Cheryl (Whitten) and Brian Emery of Maumelle, Ark., Ross and Belva Haley of Siloam Springs, Doris (Hepler) and Robert Porterfield of Noel, Mo.

The delicious buffet meal was prepared by Murel Collins and her son, Tony Morris. One guest, Murel's daughter-in-law Bonnie Fair, was present and helped with serving.

Everyone enjoyed visiting and taking pictures. Murel entertained the crowd with a report on events that happened in 1964 and tested her classmates with a trivia quiz about 1964 although most didn't score very high. Herman Smith won the award for most correct answers, a Razorback bumper sticker. A card was signed to send to classmate Mike Pittman in Texas.

Twelve members of the class, Fred Bunch, Phyllis Burnett, Murel Collins, Oliver Duncan, Glenda Eldred, Cheryl Emery, Ross Haley, Dickey Harris, Susan Holland, Stella Shanklin, Herman Smith and Max Wallace rode in the Gravette Day parade, with Oliver providing the vehicle. Two classmates, Donald Payne and Beulah Rice, rode on the Payne family float, which won the crowd favorite award.
