School starts Monday. Drivers, be alert! Watch out for the excited little ones and the bewildered pets who don't understand why they are getting left behind.

Check your mailboxes and area for wasps. If you find any, please spray them. Some of our carriers have reported being stung. No one likes a sting and some carriers are highly allergic to them.

Former Hiwasse correspondent Maxine Holloway celebrated her 96th birthday on Monday.

Lamarise Carrier has returned to her home in Norman, Okla., after spending the weekend with her family. Others having lunch with Mr. and Mrs. Lofty Carrier on Sunday and helping Lofty celebrate his birthday were Mr. and Mrs. Skylar Carrier, Jessica, Madison and Serenity, Mr. and Mrs. Ward Carrier, Gabe Carrier and myself.

The Habermehl family are in need of our prayers. Bill is in the hospital seriously ill. Sue has received word her treatments were not helping and Billy is suffering setbacks with his problems.

As usual, it rained on Gravette Day. Some of the lightning got up close and personal around my house Saturday afternoon.

Tippy as a rule pays no attention to a thunderstorm -- she hid under the bed Saturday.

It was good to have Betty Clardy able to be at church on Sunday. She has been missed.

Hope everyone has a good week and our sick soon feel better.
