AWANA Club

AWANA, a children's ministry, will begin at Heritage Baptist Church on Sept. 3. AWANA is a children's club for kindergarten through 5th grade. Club meets from 6:30 to 8 p.m. each Wednesday at Heritage Baptist Church, 307 4th Ave., S.E., Gravette. The club engages children in game time, singing, Bible stories, the memorization of Bible verses and has special fun nights. All children are welcome. Back To School Bash

Heritage Baptist Church in Gravette will be sponsoring an area-wide youth event on Aug. 23, beginning at 4:30 p.m. and ending at 9 p.m. at the Gravette Middle School Gym, 607 Dallas Street, S.E. The event includes: 6-on-6 dodgeball and 5-on-5 volleyball tournaments, with pre-registration starting at 4:30 p.m. and all games starting at 5:30. The event is for 7th grade through college age youth. Inflatables and dunk tank will be set up. There will be free food and entertainment. Concerned Citizens

Concerned Citizens of Gravette School District will be holding informational meetings about the proposed tax increase for a new elementary school in Bella Vista and how it will impact the entire Gravette School District. A meeting will be held in Hiwasse Aug. 19, at 6:30 p.m., at the Community Building. Another one will be held in Sulphur Springs on Aug. 21, at 7 p.m., at the Old School Cafeteria. Music Festival

The Siloam Music Festival will be presenting its end-of-summer concert at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 17, at JBU's Berry Performing Arts Center, 2000 W. University Street. The Theme will be "Keyboard & More," featuring an all-star cast of local pianists and vocalists, including Paul Whitley, Jonathan Story, Michael Shuman, Kim Hayes and Donna Rollene. 135th Anniversary

Mason Valley Baptist Church will be celebrating its 135th anniversary on Sunday, Aug. 17. Sunday school will start at 9:45 a.m., and worship will be at 10:50 a.m. A potluck dinner will follow (the church will furnish the meat and drinks). A program of remembrances of Mason Valley, led by new pastor Denny Hustedt, will begin at 2 p.m. The public is invited to come and share memories. The church is located on Arkansas Highway 12, between Vaughn and Highfill.

Sulphur Springs Library

The Sulphur Springs Public Library, located at 512 Black Street, is now open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 1 to 4 p.m. with volunteer help. Library membership cards for an individual may be purchased for $2 and a family card is $5. Phone 479-298-3753 for further information.

Gravette Library Gala

The second annual Gravette Public Library fund-raising gala will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, at the Cedaridge Event Center, 10889 Highway 72 W., in Bentonville. The event will feature a catered dinner, casino games, silent auction and a DJ. Dress is business/casual. Tickets are available for $25 per person or $160 for a table of eight and may be purchased at the Gravette library, Arvest Bank - Gravette and the Bank of Gravett or from any library commission member. Gentry All School Alumni

The Gentry All School Alumni banquet will be held Aug. 30 in the Gentry Middle/High School cafeteria. The banquet is for anyone who has attended Gentry Schools. Doors open at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7 p.m. Cost per meal is $25. Funds are used to provide scholarships for graduating seniors. Gravette Farmers' Market

The Gravette Farmers' Market is open for its seventh season, just off Arkansas Highway 72, in Old Town Park. It will be open every Saturday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. until November. The market will feature locally grown produce, plants, creative and artistic craft items and wholesome baked goods. USDA WIC vouchers, Senior Nutrition Program vouchers, Double-the-Money senior coupons and tokens will be accepted. Quilting Class

A class for area quilters and crafters will be held this Saturday, Aug. 16, at 12:30 p.m., at the Church of Christ annex, 202 Irving St., S.W., in Gravette. Instruction will be given on a quilt block and a "show and tell" session will be held. Please bring finished projects or works in progress and a snack to share.

Hiwasse Farmers' Market

A farmers' market is open in Hiwasse throughout the summer months. The market is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday at the vacant lot, near Not Too Shabby, in Hiwasse. Items featured will be local produce and craft items. NWA Riding Club

NWA Riding Club playdays are being held at the Luca Don Equestrian Center, located 4 miles west of Gentry on Arkansas Highway 12. Sign-up time is 5:30 p.m., with activities beginning promptly at 6. Playday rodeo competitions will be held every other Saturday. Events include pole bending, flags, barrels and speed race. Updated information is available at nwaridingclub.org.

Men's Fellowship

First Baptist Church of Gentry has a monthly men's fellowship gathering at 8 a.m. on the third Saturday of each month. All men are welcome to come for food and fellowship. Guests are welcome. For more information, contact Madden Waits at 736-5009.

Church Singing

Gravette Lions Club

Gravette Lions Club meets at 1 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of every month at the Billy V. Hall Wellness and Activity Center on Limekiln Road in Gravette. New members are welcome.

The Gravette Kiwanis Club holds breakfast meetings at 7 a.m. each Friday at the cafeteria in Ozarks Community Hospital. Guests are welcome.

Gentry Lions Club

Gentry Lions Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month in the McKee Community Room, in the Gentry Public Library, on Main Street at N. Collins Ave. New members and visitors are welcome.

The Gravette Public Library Commission meets at 5:30 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month at the library, located at 407 Charlotte St., S.E., just east of the Civic Center.

Gravette Museum

The Gravette Museum Commission meets at 6:30 p.m. the first Monday of each month in the museum annex building, 503 Charlotte St., S.E., just east of the Gravette Public Library.

Gravette Legion

Gravette American Legion Post 25 meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month at the Civic Center. All veterans are encouraged to attend.

Singing Services

Monthly singing services at Falling Springs Church are held at 7 p.m., the first Friday of each month. The church is located northwest of Gentry and west of Decatur on Falling Springs Road.

Decatur VFW Meetings

VFW Post 9834 meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. New members and guests are welcome. The facility is three miles east of Decatur on Arkansas Highway 102 and right on Tilly's Hill Road.
