Maysville News

By Katherine Tucker

Sunday was a very warm day. We did get rain on Saturday. It sort of put a stop to a few activities for Gravette Day but they got going again later in the day.

Shelly Bishop visited her grandparents, Jack and Sylvia Tucker, one day last week and gave both of them a haircut. That sounds like a winner.

I had a great-granddaughter, Skyler Warren, in the Miss Gravette pageant at Gravette Day. She placed third runner-up and I was proud of her. I was a winner myself, for the oldest person attending Gravette Day. I wasn't surprised on mine.

The Tucker reunion was held Sunday at the Maysville Community Center. We had a large crowd. There were family members attending from Arizona, Oklahoma, Kansas, California, Missouri and, of course, Arkansas. We had a great day, lots of good food disappeared and we enjoyed it. We will meet again the second Sunday in August next year. Our reunion is always the same weekend as Gravette Day.

It was so good to have Marvin Wilber come over to the reunion of the Tuckers. He is a friend of all of us. In fact, he was a baseball coach to several of the Tuckers. We had him stay and eat with us. He said he really enjoyed the day and we enjoyed having him.

I had several visitors Saturday, Clifton and Judy Tucker, Nikki, Nick and Tyler of Bella Vista, Tyler Martin, Katlynn Martin and Katie. I sure enjoyed them all.
