WESTSIDE -- Contested mayoral races are in store for Decatur, Gravette, Highfill and Springtown.
In Decatur, Bob Tharp will challenge current mayor Charles Linam in the November election. In Gravette, Kurt Maddox is challenging Byron Warren for the mayor's post. Former mayor Chris Holland will challenge current mayor Stacy Digby in Highfill. And, in Springtown, Mayor Lemke will be challenged by Preston Barrett.The only contested race in Gentry is for the Ward 1, Position 2 post, in which Katrina Cryer is challenging incumbent James Furgason.
The following candidates have filed for municipal offices in Benton County. The filing period ended Friday.
Decatur:
