Adult education program beginning n Classes to be offered in Rogers, Gravette and Siloam Springs

BENTON COUNTY -- Northwest Arkansas Community College's Adult Education Program began a new semester on Aug. 25.

The Adult Education Program offers GED preparation classes, English as a second language classes, citizenship classes, basic skills classes and college prep classes.

All classes are taught by certified teachers, and instruction is individualized to meet the needs of the students. All classes are free, and adults 18 and older may enroll at any time.

The NWACC Adult Education Center is located at the Center for Nonprofits at 1200 W. Walnut St. in Rogers. The Center is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday. Classes are scheduled mornings, afternoons and evenings. While the classes officially began Aug. 25, students may enroll in the classes at any time.

The Adult Education Program will be offering GED classes in Siloam Springs and Gravette during the fall semester. The Siloam Springs classes meet at the Community Christian Fellowship Church, 525 S. Lincoln. Classes are available from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The GED class in Gravette meets at the Gravette Public Library, 407 Charlotte Street SE. The class meets from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday.

The Adult Education Program has a staff of eight full-time certified teachers and 12 part-time certified teachers ready to help adults work toward their goal.
