Christmas parade set Saturday in Gravette

GRAVETTE -- The annual Gravette Christmas parade is scheduled for this Saturday evening, Dec. 6, beginning at 6 p.m. Area children are bursting with excitement in hopes of seeing jolly old Santa and telling him their wish lists. Several floats are expected to appear in the parade, as well as the Gravette High School marching band, with Santa and his reindeer concluding the event.

The parade will travel west on Charlotte Street, north on Highway 59 to Main Street and east on Main to Kindley Memorial Park. Santa will leave his sleigh there and visit with the youngsters to hear their requests. The Gravette community choir will be on hand to sing carols in the park, and the staff of the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity Center will be serving hot chocolate and cookies to warm up parade goers.

Following the activities in the park, Mayor Byron Warren and the folks at city hall invite the community to come to the civic center, one block south of the park on Charlotte Street, where they can enjoy a free bowl of chili. Musical entertainment will be provided during the chili feed.
