Maysville News

Sunday was more like springtime. You could even feel moisture in the air, so I thought maybe we would get some rain. Instead we got a little sleet. I'm sure winter is close behind.

Ruth Wardlaw and daughter Leslie and Orpha Wardlaw visited me on Saturday. I sure did enjoy that. Ruth and Leslie had come up to have Thanksgiving with family members. They live in Lawton, Okla.

It is so good to have Nathan Whisenant lead the singing on Sunday morning at the Maysville Bible Church. He sang a special Sunday that we enjoyed.

Orpha Wardlaw has spent some time in Oklahoma City, Okla., to be with her sister, Jo Pettigrew, who was having surgery. We wish her a speedy recovery.

On Wednesday before Thanksgiving Steve and Susan Tucker of Bella Vista came and brought lunch. The occasion was my birthday and they also brought my gift which they said was Christmas, a flat screen TV. I did not need it but I'm enjoying it. They were on their way to Kansas City for Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Day Clifton and Judy Tucker came by after me and we went to Springdale to the home of Jennifer Tucker and children Khloe and Kade. I sure enjoyed the day. There was lots of food, of course, and a lot disappeared. We all have so much to be thankful for.

Ruth and Leslie Wardlaw of Lawton, Okla., and Orpha Wardlaw met with other family members in the home of Steve and Eva Rea Fincher and children Zack and Selena of Tulsa for Thanksgiving. They reported a wonderful day.

Maysville E.H. Club members, remember Dec. 11 is our Christmas party at the community building with lunch at noon, a short program and then the game. Each one should bring a $10 wrapped gift for the game and everyone will end up with a gift. Visitors are welcome.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
