UMC to hold candlelight services this Christmas Eve in Gravette

GRAVETTE -- Two traditional candlelight Christmas Eve services will be held in the Gravette United Methodist Church sanctuary, located at 202 Akron Street N.E., on Dec. 24 this year, according to church pastor Eric Meyer. One will be held at 4 p.m. and another at 6 p.m., with a time of fellowship and refreshments in the fellowship hall at 5 p.m.

"These services are our gift to the community," Meyer explained. "Everyone is invited, particularly those who are alone and don't have a place to celebrate Christmas. We are scheduling two services to better accommodate everyone's schedules. The 4 p.m. service should be especially helpful for senior citizens who would like to come out and socialize, enjoy the service and get back home before it gets dark or families who have other plans for later in the evening."

Meyer emphasized that both services will be traditional candlelight worship services featuring the singing of seven Christmas carols and readings from the Gospel of Luke.

"We invite all to come out, worship with us and enjoy a traditional service of song, Scripture and fellowship," he said.
