Osborn to perform at Carnegie Hall

GRAVETTE -- Brianna Osborn, a student at Gravette High School, has been selected for the 2015 High School Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall. She will perform as a second alto at Carnegie Hall in February 2015 with the Honors Choir.

Participation in one of the three honors ensembles is limited to the highest rated high school performers from across North America and select schools internationally.

Brianna Osborn, a freshman, auditioned this fall for the Honors Performance Series and was accepted after a review by the Honors Selection Board. Acceptance to the elite group is a direct result of the talent, dedication, and achievements demonstrated in her application and audition recording.

Brianna will join other performers from 49 United States, several provinces in Canada, and several foreign countries for a special performance at world-famous Carnegie Hall, a venue that marks the pinnacle of musical achievement.

According to Morgan Smith, program director, "Being selected to the Honors Performance Series is something each finalist should be extremely proud of accomplishing. We process more than 10 thousand nominations annually, selecting only the most talented performers applying on an international level. Working with these conductors and performing at Carnegie Hall is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that these student musicians never forget."

Brianna has studied music for nine years and is a member of the Gravette High School Select Choir.

"I am honored to perform in the Honors Performance Series because I have a passion for music and, in the future, I wish to partake in a music career," Osborn said.

Finalists will come together in New York City for five days in February to have the opportunity to learn from conductor Eph Ehly, work with other finalists, and get a taste of New York City.

The Sunday, Feb. 22, performance is open to the public. Tickets can be purchased, beginning 60 days prior to the performance, through the Carnegie Hall box office.

The Honors Performance Series was created to showcase accomplished individual high school performers on an international level by allowing them to study under master conductors and perform in the celebrated venue, Carnegie Hall. Each year, the Series selects approximately 500 Finalists for the High School Honors Performance Series.
