Sunday, Dec. 21, was the first day of winter and the shortest day of the year. Have you noticed the days getting any longer yet?

Everyone have a fun but safe New Year's Eve.

There was a drop-in at the Sulphur Springs Seventh-Day Adventist Church on Sunday, the 21st, to help Clint Holloway celebrate his 52nd birthday.

Those having lunch with me on Sunday, the 21st, were Mr. and Mrs. Ward Carrier, Gabe Carrier, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Carrier, Mr. and Mrs. Lofty Carrier, Jessica, Madison and Serenity.

Johnny Hight was scheduled for more surgery on Dec. 30. We wish him a speedy and complete recovery.

Rozella Sandlin Mason is home recovering after spending a few days in the hospital week before last.

Beau and Reese Hamilton spent the first weekend of Christmas break with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hamilton.

Snow on Dec. 24 brings a good hop crop.

By now mothers are probably looking forward to Jan. 5 when school resumes.

Keli Belts had to close her shop for a few days to help care for her seriously ill mother. Remember to keep the family in your prayers.

Lamarise Carrier arrived from Norman, Okla., on Wednesday morning to spend Christmas with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lofty Carrier, and other family members.

The Christmas Day sunshine was very welcome. It had been so long since we had seen it. However we did awaken to a white Christmas morning -- a very heavy frost.

Those enjoying Christmas Eve with Mr. and Mrs. Dale Henry were Donnley Swatzell, Mr. and Mrs. Lofty Carrier, Lamarise Carrier, Mr. and Mrs. Skylar Carrier, Jessica, Madison and Serenity.

Sympathy is extended to the Habermehl family. Bill passed away on Christmas Eve. The funeral was at the Church of Christ on Tuesday.

Christmas evening Mr. and Mrs. Tom Brooks and Mr. and Mrs. Don Wall were in Powell, Mo., for a Brooks family celebration.

Wayne and Betty Clardy are both having serious health problems and are in need of our prayers.

Regina Keith was at church on Sunday and said that Larry seemed to be a bit better at this time.

Those having lunch with Mr. and Mrs. Ward Carrier, Mike and Gabe on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Brian Carrier, Mr. and Mrs. Lofty Carrier, Lamarise Carrier and myself.

Mr. and Mrs. Skylar Carrier, Jessica, Madison and Serenity were in Huntsville on Sunday visiting Tasha's parents.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Carver and Jake and Mr. and Mrs. Tracy Gregg and Autumn were at Novella Carlton's on Christmas Eve for a family celebration.

Mr. and Mrs. Larry Weihe were in Minnesota over the weekend. Jason Knight from Rogers brought the sermon at the Nazarene Church on Sunday morning.

Marlo Hamilton is spending Christmas and the week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hamilton. Robert Paul and family were with them on Christmas Day.

Kolton Hamilton has spent a few days over Christmas with his parents and other family members.
