GRAVETTE -- Some lucky person from Gravette, or the area, may want to kiss a cow one day in mid-April. It will have nothing to do with an income tax refund.

The Gravette Lion Athletic Booster Club is sponsoring an unusual project in which a lucky person, selected by a cow, will win $1,000 when the contest ends a few days after April 15.

The Booster Club Cow Patty Drop is to raise funds for the club which contributes hundreds of dollars supporting Gravette Lion activities at GHS.

The cow, who at this time remains nameless, will be released on the 50-yard line on McAbee football field downtown campus at noon, Saturday, April 19. As an expected and expectant crowd of potential cow-kissers stand by, the bovine will saunter around on the field and eventually will decide on which spot, a numbered square, to drop her winning patty.

Tickets are available at the following locations in Gravette: Arvest Bank, Bank of Gravett, Austin Drug and Teasley Drug. Tickets are $25 each and there is no limit to the number of tickets you can purchase.

The winner will not need to be present and won't have to kiss the cow but must be willing to fill out a 1099 tax form, said Trent Rachel, who heads the project. "Thank you for supporting the GHS Athletic Boosters by buying tickets," he said, urging support for the fund raising event.
