Maysville News

The weather has been the subject for several days. There may be more snow on the way.

My brother, Jim Vandiver of Broken Arrow, Okla., came over last Wednesday for the funeral of Gary Chism. He, our sister Frances Sims and sister-in-law Janes Vandiver of Bentonville went to Rogers to eat before he returned home later.

Jack and Sylvia Tucker visited their son, Carroll Tucker, and Pam on Sunday evening to watch the football game. I don't think they thought it was a good game.

Steve and Clifton Tucker visited me last Saturday, then they went over and spent some time with their sister, Helen Chism.

The Chism family, Helen, Julie, Karla, Tracy and Katie, expressed their heartfelt thanks for the sympathy extended to the family during their time of loss. They said there were "simply no words to express" their gratitude.

The election on the ambulance deal for rural residents was this Tuesday. The county sheriff's department planned to help get all the poll workers to their poll places because of the weather. I think I'm covered. Byron Warren said he would take me so I have a way.

Patti King of Lowell came over on Saturday and spent the night with her parents, Jack and Sylvia Tucker. I know they enjoyed that. She returned home Sunday.

Jack Tucker was celebrating a birthday last week. Happy birthday, Jack. Hope you have many more.

There was a fellowship dinner at the Maysville Bible Church Sunday after the morning service. They always have good food and fellowship.
