GRAVETTE -- In a special meeting Monday evening, Feb. 10, the Gravette School Board met to consider the expulsion of a male high school student.

Neither the boy nor his parents appeared at the meeting. He was charged with four actions violating school handbook policies (assault, threats and bullying, sexual harassment and possession of a dangerous instrument).

Four board members present, Susan Santos, Dan Yates, Danny Alsup and John Edwards, unanimously approved expulsion of the student for one year. The action contains a stipulation that, should the student seek readmission, he will be required to appear before an administrative panel.

Board members not present for the special meeting were Jay Oliphant, Jack Skillett and Jim Singleton.
