Michael Lee Duffy

Michael Lee Duffy, 62, of Lawrenceville, Ga., died Thursday, Dec. 26. He was born Jan. 19, 1951, in Bentonville to Glenn A. and Lereta Childers Duffy, of Gravette.

Mr. Duffy spent his childhood in Gravette where he attended school and graduated from Gravette High School in 1969. He attended the First Baptist Church in Gravette. He received his degree in microbiology from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and was employed by Perkin-Elmer, an Atlanta firm which produced advanced design scientific and medical equipment. He traveled throughout the United States and numerous foreign countries conducting lab seminars concerning such equipment.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Pat Duffy.

Survivors include one daughter, Jessica; one brother, Glenn Albert Duffy and wife Betty of Gravette; and a niece, Adela Daugherty of Centerton.

A memorial service to be announced will be held in Gravette.

Debra Lynn Marvin

Debra Lynn Marvin, 53, of Sulphur Springs, died Thursday, Dec. 26, at Ozarks Community Hospital in Gravette. She was born Jan. 25, 1960, in Phoenix, Ariz., to Clifford Lee McPherson and Wanda Faye Damron McPherson.

She had lived in the Sulphur Springs area since 1978. She loved helping animals and watching movies with family and friends. She loved her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her parents, Clifford and Wanda McPherson; two sons, Derek Marvin (Stephanie Jacks) and Ty Marvin, and a daughter, Ashlee Marvin, all of Sulphur Springs; one brother, Troy McPherson of Gravette; one sister, Rhonda Jarvis of Hiwasse; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Sunday, Dec. 29, at the Hiwasse Christian Church with pastor Jonas Edgmon officiating.

Arrangements were by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Arkansas.

Brett Liley

Brett M. Liley, 24, of Gravette, died Dec. 23, 2013, at Ozarks Community Hospital in Gravette.

He was born Aug. 24, 1989, in Gravette, to Michael W. Liley and Cheri O'Hara Liley. He was a graduate of Gravette High School.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Charles Liley; and his maternal grandparents.

Survivors include his parents, Mike and Cheri Liley of Gravette; one sister, Shae Liley of Gravette; paternal grandmother, Carolyn Wheeler of Sulphur Springs; and other family members.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, Ark., was in charge of arrangements.
