GRAVETTE -- An early December snowstorm forced cancellation of the annual Gravette High School basketball homecoming on Dec. 13 against the Elkins Elks.

Because of the upcoming semester tests and the Christmas break, the homecoming event was rescheduled for last Friday, Jan. 10, against the conference foe, Ozark Hillbillies.

Because school was cancelled several days last week and because of unsettled weather conditions, it was uncertain the games could be held. But they were and a crowd of Lion fans were present in the competition gym to enjoy the coronation ceremony and watch the Lions defeat the Hillbillies.

Following introduction of the homecoming court, GHS senior Samantha Pruitt was crowned homecoming queen. Her escorts were Cole Turner and Max Greenway.

Her attendants, also candidates for the title, were senior Makayla Moore, escorted by Terence Pierce and Otto Troutner; and senior Aubree-Anna Garrett, escorted by Austin White and Travis VanOtterloo.
