GENTRY -- Sophia Asencio-Porter, a senior at Gentry High School, was named to All-State Cheer, according to a release from the Arkansas Athletics Association last week.

Ascensio-Porter was elated at the news when she heard it on Jan. 15 at the evening basketball game.

She suffered a knee injury during the competion season and has had to sit out of numerous cheer activities since her injury.

She is a captain on the cheer squad and has won numerous individual awards over the past years.
