Boil order cancelled

GRAVETTE -- A "boil order" for a portion of the Gravette water system near Eighth Avenue and Spanish Treasure Road issued by water superintendent Corey Reardon was lifted on Friday, Jan. 17, according to the Arkansas Department of Health.

Bacteriological test samples taken on Monday, Jan. 13, were found to be "safe" and a satisfactory disinfectant level has been established throughout the distribution system. The water is therefore considered "safe" for human consumption and the "boil water" notice is hereby lifted, the ADH noted.

The order was issued as a precautionary measure because of a water main break.
