GENTRY -- Coronation ceremonies were held Friday night at Gentry High School -- an event originally scheduled before Christmas but delayed because of December snows -- and Dusty Haag was selected as the basketball homecoming king, with Kristen Flesner crowned queen.
Four senior girls were candidates for the special honor: Aspen Cripps, escorted by Dustin Stouflett; Kristen Flesner, escorted by Dusty Haag; Jordan Olds, escorted by Jarod Cousins; and Karoline Page, escorted by Brent Barker.
Other members of the court included: junior maid Sophia Stasiv, escorted by Dylan Phillips; junior maid Rachel Lawrence, escorted by Blake Boyd; junior maid Meagan Eli, escorted by Jacob Farley; junior maid Taylor Butler, escorted by Garrett Sumner; junior maid Bailey Bills, escorted by Ryan Hockenberry; sophomore maid Olivia Weathers, escorted by Alex Ellis; sophomore maid Brieann Ward, escorted by Jason McCardle; sophomore maid Tori Vetor, escorted by Peter Thao; sophomore maid Mallory Morris, escorted by Wyatt Clark; sophomore maid Lauren Little, escorted by Zac Adkins; sophomore maid Christina Campbell, escorted by Austin Thompson; sophomore maid Amanda Brenes, escorted by Jon Brown and Wally Dane; sophomore maid Haley Borgeteien-James, escorted by Matt Juillerat; crown bearer Raley Dilbeck and ball bearer Ethan Tromp, escorted by Teyha Romero; and cheerleaders Lexie Clark, Erika Magana, Sydney Hodges, Brittany Atwood, Micah Turtle, Shelby Allen, Niki Lee, Whitney Scott, Sophia Ascencio-Porter, Lindsey Holt and Kyla Riggs.
Following the processional and introduction of the court, Dusty Haag was announced as king; and, with a slight pause, Kristen Flesner was announced as the 2014 basketball homecoming queen.
