DECATUR -- The Decatur Public Library recently received a pair of donations from two northwest Arkansas American Legion posts.

American Legion Post 100, under the command of Mrs. Barbara Aquini, donated $600 to the senior gathering program. This program gives Decatur senior citizens a place to do art and craft projects, review books and attend special programs. The group meets on the second Wednesday morning of each month. The donation was made possible with the support of Decatur resident, Dave Cook.

American Legion Post 77 donated a new metal bingo set and bingo cards to the library. The bingo set will be used for children and senior programs sponsored by the library.

A recent question concerning the library's policy on inclement weather arose.

"Whenever Decatur public schools are closed due to inclement weather, the library will also be closed," Karen Jones, Decatur's head librarian, said.

For questions concerning these programs or any other happenings at the Decatur Library, contact Karen Jones at 752-7323.
