GRAVETTE -- Brandon Kapner, 17, a 123-pound open fighter, won the state and regional Golden Gloves and went to Las Vegas to fight in the National Golden Gloves Tournament, fighting in the men's division -- 17 to 34 years old.

Brandon took a loss there to a 29-year-old fighter out of New York, Michael Stoute. Very few can say they made it that far at only 17.

Noah Kapner, 16, won the state and regional Junior Olympics and went to West Virginia to fight in the National JO tournament. He fought Texas on the first day and won. He fought Idaho on the second day and won. He fought California the third day and took a loss by a split decision, getting him a bronze metal and ranking him fourth in the Nation.

After the fights, Brandon and Noah had the honor and opportunity to meet and visit with Evander Holyfield one-on-one and talk about boxing.

The Kapner boys do not have a gym, but train at home with their dad, Mike Kapner, who has been training them as both a father and coach.
