Maysville E.H. Club News

MAYSVILLE -- The Maysville E.H. Club held its June meeting at the Maysville Community Building. Katherine Tucker was the hostess for the noon meal.

Orpha Wardlaw called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone. Melinda Crawley led the group singing "Sing, Sing a Song." She also gave devotional readings entitled "Signs You Need a Vacation" and "Strength to Dream."

Sylvia Tucker gave the lesson on "How to have Effective Meetings."

Eye opener suggested by Bert Ballman was to easily remove the core from a head of lettuce by hitting it on the counter, then twisting it. Cultural Art was given by Sylvia Tucker. She demonstrated a beautiful engraved picture made with a kit entitled Engraving Art Project. Dianne Aufuvai showed "new" cards she makes out of old ones.

Reports were given on the spring yard sale, County Fun Day, Maysville Day and the party for Mary Crawley. Orpha talked about the BBQ grill given to us by the Fire Department. We had a short discussion on the upcoming fair and what our club might do for an educational booth. Benton County Fair will be Aug. 12-16 this year. We also talked about items to be collecting for the Country Store. Proceeds are used for scholarships for 4-H members.
