— Angela Scott, 44, of Bella Vista and a teacher at Gravette High School, was killed Tuesday morning, July 8, in a two-vehicle crash on Arkansas Highway 72, in Gravette.

According to a partial accident report released from the Gravette Police Department on Friday, Scott’s vehicle was eastbound on Arkansas Highway 72 at 7:38 a.m. when it was struck by a Dodge pickup truck driven by John Trobaugh, 33, of Rogers. Trobaugh’s truck traveled left of center and struck Scott’s vehicle in the eastbound lane, according to the report.

A witness statement summarized in the partial report said the witness was driving eastbound, behind Scott’s car, when a westbound pickup truck crossed the center line and struck Scott’s vehicle head on.

The accident occurred near the intersection of Highway 72 with Bluebird Road, police said, on a straight and level section of the highway.

Scott was driving a 2014 Toyota Corolla and wearing her seat belt, according to police, but was partially ejected in the accident. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Trobaugh was driving a 2014 Dodge Ram 4500 pickup truck owned by Vision Cabling Service. Trobaugh said he was not injured and refused medical treatment. A passenger in the pickup truck was taken by ambulance to the hospital in Gravette where he was treated and released.

Trobaugh was cited for careless and prohibited driving, according to the release, with additional charges possible “pending results from the Arkansas Crime Lab.”

The accident investigation is ongoing, according to police.

According to the school’s website, Scott was a health science technology and bio-medical engineering teacher at the school and was also HOSA advisor and the career and technical department chairwoman at Gravette High School.
