Johnny Hight underwent knee-replacement surgery last week. We wish him a complete recovery.

I always miss Kringle on the 4th of July. He was my grandson's dog and, unlike most dogs who try to hide from them, he loved fireworks. He would get as excited as a little child and try to catch them. He has been gone a few years now but I always think of him when I hear fireworks.

My son, Lofty, spent his holiday working at my house, but I have a phone again.

Lamarise Carrier spent the weekend here with family and friends.

Billy Habermehl has spent some time in the hospital this week with heart problems.

Larry Keith was able to attend church on Sunday on a day pass from the hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Larry Bertschy from Niles, Mich., are spending a few days with his parents, Leon and Peggy, and other family members.

Ashley Horn was expected home Sunday evening from a trip to Mexico.

Zena Weihe has gone to take a grandchild home to Minneapolis, Minn.

Larry and Mary Holloway have returned from a visit with her dad in Nebraska.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Carver hosted their annual 4th of July party Friday evening. A good time was reported by all.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hamilton spent a few days in Branson this week, vacationing and celebrating Robert's birthday.

Remember that foods served cold (salads, chilled soups and pates) need extra seasonings as cold temperatures numb the taste buds.
