GRAVETTE -- A Gravette man has opened a small engine repair shop in back of the Jabez Health Food Store on Highway 59 South. The shop, Dave's ATV and Small Engine Repair, opened for business the middle of May.

Owner David Jones was born at Eglin Air Force Base in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., but says he was an "Air Force brat" and has lived all over the country. He moved here two years ago from Conroe, Texas, outside Houston, because his church was here. He is a member of Shepherd's Chapel.

Jones will work on almost any kind of small engine, but he specializes in ATV small engine repair. He has completed a two-year motorcycle repair program at the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute, a division of Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix, Ariz. He is certified as a motorcycle technician specialist for Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki and Suzuki. He also works on other models.

Jones lives on a small acreage west of Gravette. He said, when he came to town, he had difficulty finding a suitable business location to rent and he is grateful to Bob Boling at the Jabez store for renting him space. Now the two businesses thrive back to back.

He invites anyone needing any type of small engine repair to drop by his shop at 404 Highway 59 South or call him at 479-212-2456.
