GENTRY -- Plans are under way in Gentry for the annual July 4th Fun Run and 5K Run.
Registration for the races is from 6:30 to 7:15 a.m. in Gentry City Park (at the old pavilion on the south side of the park), with the races beginning there at 7:30.
The one-mile run is free for all ages and all participants will receive one box of Little Debbie snack cakes.
Registration for the 5K Run is $25 per person, with winners in each of the following categories: Under 14, 14 -17, 18-34, 35-44, 45-54 and 55-plus.
The top two runners (one male and one female) will receive trophies. The top two in each age group will receive medals. All runners will receive T-shirts and one box of Little Debbie snack cakes.
Proceeds will go towards MERA Wellness programs.
