GENTRY -- Two new businesses opened this spring in the 200 block of East Main Street in Gentry -- one a custom boot and saddle shop, and the other a second-hand store featuring furniture and home decor.

Cowboy & Co., owned and operated by John and Miranda Stamps, is located at 213 E. Main Street, and John was at work Friday making a new pair of boots and repairing a saddle.

The new business, which opened May 12, features custom-made boots and saddles and also retails a variety of horse tack, some made by John or Miranda and some through other suppliers. John said they have just about everything anyone would need in the way of tack.

All the Cowboy & Co. saddles and boots are made right there. John makes saddles to suit his customers' needs. And for boots, he measures his customers' feet and makes his boots fit just right. And, in these times, that kind of personalized service is hard to find.

For those who need saddles or boots repaired, John can do that too.

Cowboy & Co. is open for business from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. Phone numbers for the business are 479-366-3102 and 228-7951.

'Fancy That'

Just across the street from Cowboy & Co. is Fancy That, a new business located at 208 East Main Street. The business features vintage furniture and home decor items.

The business, which opened in early March, is owned and operated by Kay Taylor, Link Taylor and Lisa Taylor. The store showrooms are filled with repurposed furniture and decorative vintage items to spruce up a room or an entire home.

In addition to items repurposed by the Taylors, the business also accepts some consignment items.

The store is open Monday through Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Phone is 736-5020.
