Martin receives the State Farmer Degree

GRAVETTE -- Gravette FFA members attended the Arkansas State FFA Convention held June 4-6 at Camp Couchdale in Hot Springs.

During the first session Gravette FFA was awarded the National Chapter Award for the various activities carried out throughout the year. Receiving this award for the chapter was Katlynn Martin.

Katlynn Martin and Nathania McKenzie served as delegates during the next day's business session and election of state officers. Students also enjoyed hearing keynote speaker Krista Cupp of Tyson Foods.

On the first day Jacob Ballman accepted the Food, Fiber and Shelter Award presented to the Gravette FFA Chapter based on the chapter's community service work in those areas. Katlynn Martin received the State Farmer Degree, the highest degree given by the state association.

Students also visited the career show between sessions where representatives from various universities and vocational schools provided information about their programs.
