Click-It or Ticket nets 128 warnings

GRAVETTE -- The Gravette Police Department participated in the national "Click it or Ticket" campaign sponsored by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration from May 19 to June 1. "Click it or Ticket" is focused on maximizing the contacts of officers with motorists and increasing enforcement for safety-based traffic violations.

During the two-week special enforcement period, Gravette police officers reported issuing 128 warning citations. Twenty-six citations were issued for seat belt violations and seven were issued for child safety-seat violations. Officers also took enforcement action on the following for activities that were discovered during the course of their seat belt enforcement activities: Speeding citations, 26; driving while intoxicated arrests, 4; fugitive warrants served, 2; suspended/revoked driver's license, 6; felony arrests, 1; uninsured motorists, 4; endangering the welfare of a minor, 4.
