Maysville News

We sure got another good rain during the night Saturday and on up in the day Sunday. We just hope they don't come to an end in July and August.

A fun day for the 13 county E.H. clubs was held at Maysville on Friday. Maysville E.H. Club hosted the event. It is an annual event. We owe Jim Singleton and Robert Seay a big thank you for cooking our hamburgers and hot dogs. Each member brought a side dish. We had a big meal and good program and enjoyed the get-together.

Orpha Wardlaw's visitors this weekend were her cousin Jean of Moore, Okla., and her granddaughter Selena Fincher of Tulsa, Okla. They visited church with Orpha.

Several Maysville people attended the reception in Gravette last Thursday for Dodie Evans, who is retiring after 60 years or more with newspaper companies. We wish him congratulations after all those years. There was a large crowd in attendance.

Patti King of Lowell visited her parents one day last week and also visited Ron and Debbie Sims before returning home the next day.

Orpha Wardlaw spent a couple of days last week in Tulsa, Okla., visiting her daughter and family, Steve and Eva Rea Fincher, Zack and Selena.

Maysville Day will be this coming Saturday, June 21, with lots of activities going on beginning at 9:30 a.m. The parade will be at 11 a.m. with gospel singing later in the afternoon, BBQ by the Handi-Stop and home cooked pies by the Maysville Extension Club. Come and enjoy the day with family and friends.
