GRAVETTE -- Gravette High School held its annual Career Day May 21. Speakers from various industries, corporations, professions and agencies were present. Students were able to choose areas of interest and listen to and meet the guests.

The event opened with the introduction of the 18 guest speakers in the performing arts center. Next, a career presentation was given about career statistics for students involved in sports and extracurricular activities. Finally, a video about trends and changes in business and media was shown.

Student ambassadors were chosen from the Career and Tech Clubs and other extracurricular groups to assist and introduce the speakers. The event was sponsored by DECA and coordinated by Bob Johnson.

Speakers included: Ashley LaHue, transitional employment assistant; Cassidy McCollumn, Walmart campus finance recruiter; Tracy Sewell, city of Gravette operations manager; Emily Patterson, University of Arkansas financial aid counselor; Jay Oliphant, Walmart Corp. senior director of real estate finance; Sergeant Price, Arkansas Army National Guard; Staff Sergeant Robinson, Arkansas Army National Guard; Mark Jones, Credit Counseling of Arkansas personal finance counselor; Officer Danny Henry, Gravette Police Dept.; Cheryl Pickering, NWA Educational Coop career and tech educational coordinator; Carol Shaver, NWA Workforce Center employment trainer/workforce advisor; Damon Wallace, owner Finish Line Automotive & Mt.
