Centerton Day set Saturday

CENTERTON -- The 38th Annual Centerton Day is set for June 28. This is an all-day event, with a full schedule on the city of Centerton Facebook page.

There will be a 5K run starting at 7 a.m. behind Sonic Drive-in. The cost is $15 in advance or $20 the day of the event. To pre-register, go to www.register-wizard.com/register/?ID=1268.

There will also be a pancake breakfast at the Centerton Fire Department, located at 755 West Centerton Blvd., from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m., hosted by Horton Farms. This will be all-you-can-eat pancakes and sausage for $5 per person, all proceeds will go to the Centerton Volunteer Fire Department.

A kid's fishing derby will be held at Centerton Lake from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. The event is for children 15 and under and participants need to bring their own pole and bait. There will be tagged fish for prizes.

A car and bike show will be held at Beckendale Plaza in the 400 Block of West Centerton Blvd. from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., sponsored by Domabella's Italian Eatery and also Horton Farms. The entry fee is $25 per car. Please contact Melissa at 426-4545 for more information.

The Centennial Tiny Tot Pageant is set for 9 a.m. Entry forms are on the city Facebook and City website at www.centertonar.us.

A parade is scheduled for 11 a.m. Everyone is welcome to participate. Meet on Commercial Street beside Harp's at 10:30 a.m. to line up. U.S. Congressman Steve Womack will be the guest speaker. State Rep. Dan Douglas will present the city a proclamation for its centennial.

There will also be music in the park all morning by local bands -- Gabe Wood, Life Point Worship and Breaking Silence.

A live auction is set for 12 noon to benefit the Centerton Volunteer Fire Department, Shop with a Cop and Centerton Animal Control. Donations for the auction are still needed.
