Springtown revamps its animal control ordinance

SPRINGTOWN -- The town council, at its June 13 meeting, passed a resolution authorizing the mayor to enter into an agreement with the Benton County Sheriff's Office to enforce its animal control ordinance and then adopted an ordinance on three readings with a single vote to completely revamp the wording of the city's animal control ordinance.

Jan Cox, town clerk, passed out a copy of the year-to-date cash flow report, current through the last day of the previous month, for the General Fund and Street Fund. Also presented was the report from the town's annual barbecue held June 7, showing a profit of $716.42. The money will be used for park improvements.

The city clerk reported that Mayor Lemke said he is still following up on the matter of money received from FEMA as a part of the Aubrey Long Road bridge project

The clerk also relayed information from Mayor Lemke that there was no change in status for the water garden in the new park area by Aubrey Long Road Bridge and that Don Johnston is prepared to begin working on the preliminary cost estimate for walking trail project this week.

Information for this report is from unapproved minutes of the June 13 meeting.
