Kindergarten, Pre-Kindergarten Registration

Glenn Duffy Elementary School in Gravette is holding a kindergarten registration Monday, March 17, through Friday, March 21, between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and between 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday. Pre-kindergarten applications will also be available at this time. Parents with questions are encouraged to call the school at 787-4120. The OCH Gravette Clinic is scheduling appointments for pre-kindergarten and kindergarten children to get immunizations and/or physicals on March 17 through March 21. Maysville E.H.

Spaghetti Supper

The Maysville E.H. Club will hold its spring fundraiser, a spaghetti supper, Saturday, April 5, at the Maysville community building. Serving of spaghetti, salad, bread and drinks will begin at 5:30. Cost will be $5 for adults and $2.50 for children 12 and under. There will also be homemade pies for sale, and a cake walk will be held. Proceeds will help pay the high propane bill for the winter.

Disease Management

"Be Well Live Well," a chronic disease management six-week workshop, will be held from 1:30 to 4 p.m. on Thursdays. Classes began March 6 and will run through April 10, at the Gentry Senior Activity Center, 121 East Main Street, Gentry. Please call the center to register for this free informative course, 736-0378. This is open to anyone 60 or more with conditions such as diabetes, arthritis, asthma, cancer, COPD, congestive heart failure, chronic fatigue, depression, emphysema, fibromyalgia, lung disease, obesity, Parkinson's, stroke, heart disease, asthma and more.

Josie McKinzie Benefit

A benefit to help the family of Josie McKinzie with medical bills is set for 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, at Grace Harbor Church, 2101 W. New Hope Road, Rogers. Josie was born Jan. 17 with a birth defect called gastrochisis. The benefit, which includes a silent auction, is to help offset the large deductible which Josie's parents, Sheldon and Bethany McKinzie of Gravette, must pay. Josie was recently released from the neonatal intensive care unit at Arkansas Children's Hospital. To make a donation or for information about donating items for the silent auction, call 966-6258. A bank account in Josie McKinzie's name has been set up with Arvest Bank.

Pancake Breakfast

Harvest Baptist Church is hosting a pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 22, at the church, located 2 miles south of Gravette. The breakfast is a fundraising event for the church's youth group mission fund. Tickets -- $5 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under -- will be available from youth group members in advance and at the door. All proceeds will go toward summer mission opportunities locally and across the nation.

Area Quilt Class

The regular monthly quilt class at Gravette Church of Christ will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at the church annex, 202 Irving Street, S.W. Instruction will be given on a quilt block and there will be a show-and-tell time. Anyone interested is invited to attend. Bring completed quilts or projects in progress and a snack to share.

Lions Pancake Supper

Gentry Lions Club is hosting its 42nd annual pancake supper from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 24, at the Gentry High School/Middle School cafeteria. Tickets -- $6 for adults and $3 for children under 5 -- are available from club members and at the door. Proceeds will be used for a local Lions Club sight project.

Farmers' Market Opening

The Gravette Farmers' Market will open for its seventh season on Saturday, April 12, just off Hwy. 72 in Old Town Park. It will be open every Saturday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. until November. The market will feature locally-grown produce, plants, creative and artistic craft items and wholesome baked goods. USDA WIC vouchers, Senior Nutrition Program vouchers, Double-the-Money senior coupons and tokens will be accepted. Renaissance Fair

Gravette Public Library will again host a renaissance fair from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, in Old Town Park. The fair will feature food, games and crafts from the renaissance period. Admission is free and the public is invited. The fair will be held, rain or shine.

Gardening Class

A free gardening class, featuring instruction by master gardeners, is being offered from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, at the Springtown Seventh-day Adventist Church, located on Fairmount Rd., east of Gentry. Prom Dresses

Slightly used prom dresses are offered for sale at Gentry High School to raise money for this year's prom. The dresses are being offered through March 19. Times are 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday in Room 103, and from 3:15 to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Friday in the high school cafeteria.

Gravette Driver Education

Gravette High School is offering driver's education starting April 14 with classroom instruction. Proof of insurance and a learner's permit are required along with the $175 fee which is also due on that date. Only two absences will be allowed during the course. Spring Musical

Parents and students are invited to come out and watch the spring musical at the Gravette High School performing arts center at 7 p.m. on March 15 and again at 2:30 p.m. on March 16. Cost of admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students.

"Old Timers Day" Booths

Applications are being accepted now from crafters and vendors who wish to reserve space at the annual "Old Timers Day" in Southwest City, Mo. Free booth space is available for the Saturday, May 3, event. Booths will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Main Street in Southwest City. GED Prep Classes

Free GED prep classes and testing will be held at the Gravette Library through May 16. Classes are from 4 to 6 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays at the library, 407 Charlotte St., S.E., in Gravette. Classes are open enrollment. Students may start any time and finish when they are ready. Call 986-6911 or simply show up to enroll in class.

NWA Riding Club Playdays

NWA Riding Club playdays will begin at 6 p.m., Saturday, April 5, at the Luca Don Equestrian Center, located 4 miles west of Gentry on Arkansas Highway 12. Signup time is 5:30 p.m., with activities beginning promptly at 6. Playday rodeo competitions will be held every other Saturday. Events include pole bending, flags, barrels and speed race. Updated information will be made available on the club's website, www.nwaridingclub.org.

Decatur Food Pantry

The Decatur Food Pantry is open from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursdays. The pantry offers free food to Decatur residents. The pantry is located inside the United Methodist Church in Decatur. Participants need to bring identification and a current utility bill in their name with a Decatur address. For more information, contact 752-3551.

UCC Food Pantry

United Christian Charities has opened a food pantry in downtown Decatur, across from Decatur State Bank, for anyone needing food in the northwest Arkansas area. The hours of operation are Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

Maysville Pantry

Maysville Missionary Baptist Church opens its food pantry, Our Healing Hearts, every fourth Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. for those in need.

Men's Fellowship

First Baptist Church of Gentry has a monthly men's fellowship gathering at 8 a.m. on the third Saturday of each month. All men are welcome to come for food and fellowship. Guests are welcome. For more information, contact Madden Waits at 736-5009.

Church Singing

Mount Zion Missionary Baptist in Sulphur Springs holds a singing service every fourth Saturday of the month, starting at 6:30 p.m. A potluck dinner follows. For more information, call Jheri Roberts, the pastor, at 752-7082.

Praise and Worship

Maysville Missionary Baptist Church holds a praise and worship service at 6 p.m. every third Sunday night, with refreshments following.

Tired Iron

Regular meetings of the Tired Iron of the Ozarks are held at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month at the Tired Iron clubhouse, located at the club's show grounds on Taylor Orchard Road southwest of Gentry.

Gravette Lions Club

Gravette Lions Club meets at 1 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of every month at the Billy V. Hall Wellness and Activity Center on Limekiln Road in Gravette. New members are welcome.

Gentry Lions Club

Gentry Lions Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month in the McKee Community Room, in the Gentry Public Library, on Main Street at N. Collins Ave. New members and visitors are welcome.

Gravette Legion

Gravette American Legion Post 25 meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month at the Civic Center. All veterans are encouraged to attend.

Gravette Kiwanis

The Gravette Kiwanis Club holds breakfast meetings at 7 a.m. each Friday at the cafeteria in Ozarks Community Hospital. Guests are welcome.

Singing Services

Monthly singing services at Falling Springs Church are held at 7 p.m., the first Friday of each month. The church is located northwest of Gentry and west of Decatur on Falling Springs Road.

Decatur VFW Meetings

VFW Post 9834 meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. New members and guests are welcome. The facility is three miles east of Decatur on Arkansas Highway 102 and right on Tilly's Hill Road.
