Benefit BBQ Fundraiser

Lifeway Christian Church of Centerton will be selling BBQ pork or beef sandwiches Thursday and Friday, March 27 and 28, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Centennial Park in Gravette. Cost of the sandwich, chips and drink meal is $6. Proceeds will help fund a mission trip by three church members to Ecuador. Keith Davis of Gravette is the official barbecuer. Hiwasse Nazarene Revival

The Hiwasse Nazarene Church will be in revival from March 30 through April 2. Services will be held at 10:50 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday and at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday at the church, 13569 W. Highway 72, Hiwasse. Services will be conducted by Bob and Jennifer Wilson. Jennifer will share her talents in music, and Bob will be preaching with the theme "Everybody Needs Jesus!" New Beginnings Revival

New Beginnings Fellowship will hold a revival from Thursday, April 10, through Sunday, April 13, at the church campus at 204 Main Street N.E. in Gravette (former Main Street Cafe). Services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 6 p.m. Saturday, 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday. Evangelist will be Ryan Sutton, pastor of the Grace Center in Festus, Mo. The public is invited. Maysville E.H.

Spaghetti Supper

The Maysville E.H. Club will hold its spring fundraiser, a spaghetti supper, Saturday, April 5, at the Maysville community building. Serving of spaghetti, salad, bread and drinks will begin at 5:30. Cost will be $6 for adults and $2.50 for children 12 and under. There will also be homemade pies for sale, and a cake walk will be held. Proceeds will help pay the high propane bill for the winter.

GSAC Donations

Donations given to the Gentry Senior Activity Center for its meals programs through April 1 will be used to determine the amount of additional funds the center will receive from the Feinstein Foundation's campaign to end hunger. The foundation plans to divide up $1 million among participating agencies and the percentages will be based on other contributions received from the communities. Parents Make a

Difference Night

The Gravette Upper Elementary School will be hosting its annual Parents Make a Difference Night Thursday, April 3, from 6 to 7 p.m. for the sixth annual BEE (Benchmark Exam Expert) competition. It is designed to educate parents about the Benchmark exam. A meal of hot dogs, chips and drinks will be provided.

Chainsaw Safety

The Benton County Conservation District is hosting a free chainsaw safety workshop on April 9 at the Gentry Fire Station from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., primarily aimed at emergency responders, road crews and anyone who operates a chainsaw. In addition, lunch will be provided so please register by April 1. This program has been approved by the Arkansas Fire Academy to count as eight "Certified Training Hours". Easter Egg Hunt

The annual Gentry Chamber of Commerce Easter Egg Hunt will be held at 2 p.m., April 19, at Gentry City Park. Grand prizes of bikes and trikes will be given in each of the four age groups -- up to 3-year-olds; 4 to 6; 7 to 8; and 9 to 10. The bikes are sponsored by Tucker Chiropractic, AEP/SWEPCO/AECC, Turning Point Fellowship Church and Arvest Bank. There will be hundreds of other prizes as well, and this year the children will be able to keep the eggs they find.

Farmers' Market Opening

The Gravette Farmers' Market will open for its seventh season on Saturday, April 12, just off Hwy. 72, in Old Town Park. It will be open every Saturday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. until November. The market will feature locally-grown produce, plants, creative and artistic craft items and wholesome baked goods. USDA WIC vouchers, Senior Nutrition Program vouchers, Double-the-Money senior coupons and tokens will be accepted. Renaissance Fair

Gravette Public Library will again host a renaissance fair from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, in Old Town Park. The fair will feature food, games and crafts from the renaissance period. Admission is free and the public is invited. The fair will be held, rain or shine.

Gardening Class

A free gardening class, featuring instruction by master gardeners, is being offered from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, at the Springtown Seventh-day Adventist Church, located on Fairmount Rd., east of Gentry. Spring Fling

Gentry's annual Spring Fling will be held Thursday through Saturday, May 1 to 3. Anyone planning to have a spring garage sale, antique or collectibles sale, is urged to participate in the citywide event. Anyone who would like to set up a booth along Arkansas Highway 59 may call Bev Saunders to reserve a space, 736-2358.

Gravette Driver Education

Gravette High School is offering driver's education starting April 14 with classroom instruction. Proof of insurance and a learner's permit are required along with the $175 fee which is also due on that date. Only two absences will be allowed during the course. "Old Timers Day" Booths

Applications are being accepted now from crafters and vendors who wish to reserve space at the annual "Old Timers Day" in Southwest City, Mo. Free booth space is available for the Saturday, May 3, event. Booths will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Main Street in Southwest City. GED Prep Classes

Free GED prep classes and testing will be held at the Gravette Library through May 16. Classes are from 4 to 6 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays at the library, 407 Charlotte St., S.E., in Gravette. Classes are open enrollment. Students may start any time and finish when they are ready. Call 986-6911 or simply show up to enroll in class.

NWA Riding Club Playdays

NWA Riding Club playdays will begin at 6 p.m., Saturday, April 5, at the Luca Don Equestrian Center, located 4 miles west of Gentry on Arkansas Highway 12. Signup time is 5:30 p.m., with activities beginning promptly at 6. Playday rodeo competitions will be held every other Saturday. Events include pole bending, flags, barrels and speed race. Decatur Food Pantry

The Decatur Food Pantry is open from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursdays. The pantry offers free food to Decatur residents. The pantry is located inside the United Methodist Church in Decatur. Participants need to bring identification and a current utility bill in their name with a Decatur address. For more information, contact 752-3551.

UCC Food Pantry

United Christian Charities has opened a food pantry in downtown Decatur, across from Decatur State Bank, for anyone needing food in the northwest Arkansas area. The hours of operation are Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

Maysville Pantry

Maysville Missionary Baptist Church opens its food pantry, Our Healing Hearts, every fourth Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. for those in need.

Men's Fellowship

First Baptist Church of Gentry has a monthly men's fellowship gathering at 8 a.m. on the third Saturday of each month. All men are welcome to come for food and fellowship. Guests are welcome. For more information, contact Madden Waits at 736-5009.

Church Singing

Mount Zion Missionary Baptist in Sulphur Springs holds a singing service every fourth Saturday of the month, starting at 6:30 p.m. A potluck dinner follows. For more information, call Jheri Roberts, the pastor, at 752-7082.

Praise and Worship

Maysville Missionary Baptist Church holds a praise and worship service at 6 p.m. every third Sunday night, with refreshments following.

Tired Iron

Regular meetings of the Tired Iron of the Ozarks are held at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month at the Tired Iron clubhouse, located at the club's show grounds on Taylor Orchard Road southwest of Gentry.

Gravette Lions Club

Gravette Lions Club meets at 1 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of every month at the Billy V. Hall Wellness and Activity Center on Limekiln Road in Gravette. New members are welcome.

Gentry Lions Club

Gentry Lions Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month in the McKee Community Room, in the Gentry Public Library, on Main Street at N. Collins Ave. New members and visitors are welcome.

Gravette Legion

Gravette American Legion Post 25 meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month at the Civic Center. All veterans are encouraged to attend.

Gravette Kiwanis

The Gravette Kiwanis Club holds breakfast meetings at 7 a.m. each Friday at the cafeteria in Ozarks Community Hospital. Guests are welcome.

Singing Services

Monthly singing services at Falling Springs Church are held at 7 p.m., the first Friday of each month. The church is located northwest of Gentry and west of Decatur on Falling Springs Road.

Decatur VFW Meetings

VFW Post 9834 meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. New members and guests are welcome. The facility is three miles east of Decatur on Arkansas Highway 102 and right on Tilly's Hill Road.
