Gravette girls lose to Pea Ridge in conference playoffs on Friday

PRAIRIE GROVE -- The Lady Lions ended their bid for the top spot in the district playoffs when they lost to Pea Ridge on Friday, 2-1.

Lindsee LaBrecque pitched for the Lady Lions and held the Lady Blackhawks to two runs but that wasn't enough in the battle between the two rivals.

Ashley Horn was the only Gravette player to cross the plate for the Lady Lions, driven in by a third-inning double by Emily Miller.

The Pea Ridge girls scored a run in the bottom of the second and won the game with a seventh inning run driven in by Jerika Schooley, pitcher for the Lady Blackhawks.

Berryville 3

The Lady Lions won their first tournament game, against Berryville on Thursday, 5-3.

Emily Miller was two for three in the game, doubling in the first inning and singling in the third. She drove in one run. Destiny Laymon was also two for three and picked up an RBI in the game.

Lindsee LaBrecque came in and pitched 3 2/3 innings for the Lady Lions and was credited with the win. She allowed only one run.
