GRAVETTE -- The 12th annual Gravette Lions Golf Classic, sponsored by the Gravette High School Boosters, will be held this Saturday, May 10, at the Scotsdale Golf Course in Bella Vista, according to John Edwards, Gravette school board member, who has been a driving force for the project, along with board member Jack Skillett.
Open to both men and women golfers, the classic will have duffers competing in four-person scrambles (men, women and mixed), automatic 22-putt and the 8 a.m. shotgun.
There will also be prizes for closest to pin, longest drive and that elusive hole-in-one.
The project has raised thousands of dollars to support Gravette High School activities including athletics, drama, vocal and instrumental music, cheerleaders, HOSA and arts, as well as providing academic achievement awards.
Corporate, business and individual sponsors have made the classic a success every year with sponsorships at various levels, platinum, gold and silver, as well as hole sponsors.
