Farmers' market coupons to be available soon

GRAVETTE -- Farmer's market coupons will be available soon to seniors who qualify, according to an announcement from the Area Agency on Aging. A representative from that agency will be at the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity Center in Gravette Tuesday, June 10, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

The coupons can be used to purchase fruits, vegetables, herbs and honey from local farmers' markets, including the Gravette Market, open each Saturday morning in Old Town Park from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Requirements to qualify include: being 60 years of age or older and bringing a photo ID and proof of household income. Income guidelines are: family of one, $1,799; of two, $2,425; of three, $3,051; of four, $3,677; add $626 for each additional family member.

The coupons will be usable through Oct. 31 of this year. Limit: one book per household.
