Gentry Community Thanksgiving

The Gentry Ministerial Alliance invites everyone to join together at 6 p.m., Nov. 23, at the Gentry Assembly of God Church, 700 East Main St., for the annual Community-wide Thanksgiving Service. This will be a time of corporate worship and fellowship for the residents of Gentry and the surrounding area. Special music will be provided by several area churches and Richard Hogan, pastor of the Gentry Christian Church, will bring the message. Refreshments will be served following the service. Thanksgiving Service

The Pioneer Church of God (Holiness) will be holding a special service to celebrate Thanksgiving on Nov. 23 at 11 a.m. The teen choir will help prepare hearts for this time of giving thanks to God for His blessings. Mason Valley

Thanksgiving Dinner

A community Thanksgiving dinner will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Mason Valley Baptist Church Activity Center, located half way between Vaughn and Highfill on Arkansas Highway 12. The church will provide the meat, rolls and drinks. There will be Gospel singing after dinner. Everyone is invited to come and bring a favorite vegetable or dessert.

DHS Chili Supper

The Decatur High School class of 2015 will host a chili supper from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. Nov. 7, in Room 13 at Decatur High School. The menu includes chili, crackers, Frito pie, drinks and desserts, all provided by members of the senior class, family and friends. Advance tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children 3 and under, and $6 at the door. Proceeds go toward the senior class trip in June. For more information, contact Kathy Pannell at 752-3983.

Gravette High Events

Upcoming events at Gravette High School include Senior Night Friday, Nov. 7. Seniors and their parents will be recognized in a ceremony at 6:30 p.m. before the evening's football game with Gentry. The Veteran's Day assembly will be held Tuesday, Nov. 11, in the Performing Arts Center at 2:45 p.m. Refreshments for the veterans and their families will be served in the front lobby beginning at 2:15.

OCH Fall Festival

Ozarks Community Hospital of Gravette will hold a free fall festival Saturday, Nov. 8, from 2 to 5 p.m. in its parking lot at 1101 Jackson Street, S.W. The event will feature hay rides, face painting, pumpkin painting, games, inflatables and a petting zoo. Apple cider, snowcones and candy will be served. Women's Christian Temperance Union Meeting

There will be a meeting of the Northwest Arkansas Woman's Christian Temperance Union on Friday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. This is a meeting of the local chapter of the WCTU, which is a worldwide organization that was organized by women who were concerned about the destructive power of alcohol and the problems it was causing their families and society. The purpose of the meeting is to educate about the harm that alcohol causes and to work against government policy that encourages alcohol and drug use. The meeting will be held in the home of one of the members, at 10896 Northfork Drive, just off Mount Olive Drive between Decatur and Gravette. Orphan Sunday

The Pioneer Church of God (Holiness) will be holding an Orphan Sunday event on Nov. 9 at 11 a.m. The event is in response to God's call to care for the fatherless. Gentry Quilt Show

Gentry's annual quilt show has been set for Nov. 14 through 21 at the Gentry Public Library in the McKee Community Room. The show is sponsored by McKee Foods and entry forms will be available on the city and chamber of commerce websites: www.gentryarkansas.us and gentrychamber.com. FCCLA Coat Drive

Decatur's FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) is having a coat drive through Nov. 7. New or used coats in good condition can be dropped off at Decatur High School or Elementary School. Hats, gloves and scarves will also be accepted. Donated items will be cleaned and given to needy children and adults in the Decatur School District.

Fresh Roll, Cinnamon

Roll Sale

The Billy V. Hall Senior Activity and Wellness Center, located at 1870 Limekiln Road in Gravette, is taking orders through Monday, Nov. 24, for fresh rolls and cinnamon rolls. Patrons are encouraged to order now for Thanksgiving dinner. Fresh rolls are available for $5 a dozen and cinnamon rolls for $1 each. Call 787-5950 to order. Orders may be picked up at the Senior Activity Center on Wednesday, Nov. 26, between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Music Festival Concert

The Main Siloam Music Festival fall concert, "A Note's Embrace," is just about here. Forty-five of some of the top area musicians will be participating. As always, there will be lots of variety: country, barbershop, classical, religious, jazz, pop and Broadway. To continue honoring and promoting our young musicians pursuing a career in music, Christopher Barnett, a 2011 SSHS John Philip Sousa band award graduate, will be performing an oboe concerto with a decorated chamber orchestra. The concert will be at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Community Christian Fellowship Church, 525 S. Lincoln St. The concert is free. Donations are requested. Men's Fellowship

First Baptist Church of Gentry has a monthly men's fellowship gathering at 8 a.m. on the third Saturday of each month. All men are welcome to come for food and fellowship. Guests are welcome. For more information, contact Madden Waits at 736-5009.

Mason Valley Baptist

Singing Services

Monthly singing services at Mason Valley Baptist Church Activity Center are held at 7 p.m. the second Friday of each month. The church is located on Arkansas Highway 12 midway between Highfill and Vaughn.

Church Singing

Mount Zion Missionary Baptist in Sulphur Springs holds a singing service every fourth Saturday of the month, starting at 6:30 p.m. A potluck dinner follows. For more information, call Jheri Roberts, the pastor, at 752-7082.

Gravette Lions Club

Gravette Lions Club meets at 1 p.m. on the first and the third Tuesday of every month at the Billy V. Hall Wellness and Activity Center on Limekiln Road in Gravette. Lunch is available for anyone interested. New members are welcome.

Gravette Kiwanis

The Gravette Kiwanis Club holds breakfast meetings at 7 a.m. each Friday at the cafeteria in Ozarks Community Hospital. Guests are welcome.

Gentry Lions Club

Gentry Lions Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month in the McKee Community Room, in the Gentry Public Library, on Main Street at N. Collins Ave. New members and visitors are welcome.

Gravette Legion

Gravette American Legion Post 25 meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month at the Civic Center. All veterans are encouraged to attend.

Singing Services

Monthly singing services at Falling Springs Church are held at 7 p.m., the first Friday of each month. The church is located northwest of Gentry and west of Decatur on Falling Springs Road.

Decatur VFW Meetings

VFW Post 9834 meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. New members and guests are welcome. The facility is three miles east of Decatur on Arkansas Highway 102 and right on Tilly's Hill Road.
