Gravette UMC announces upcoming services, classes

GRAVETTE -- Eric Meyer, pastor of the Gravette United Methodist Church, has announced that the church, located at 202 Akron Street, N.E., has several activities planned in the next few months.

The congregation invites the public to join them as they begin an Advent Bible study on Sunday evening, Nov. 30. The study will focus on the birth of Jesus through his mother's eyes and will continue on Sunday evenings through Dec. 21, with meetings from 6 to 7:30 each evening. There is a cost of $11 for the study book. Anyone interested should call the church, 787-5000, or email [email protected] to reserve a copy.

Traditional candlelight Christmas eve services will be held in the church sanctuary on Monday, Dec. 24, at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. with fellowship and refreshments in the fellowship hall at 5 p.m.

A budgeting and bill reduction seminar is planned on Tuesdays during January. Meetings will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Jan. 6, 13, 20 and 27. Monthly budgeting and financial basics will be taught by representatives from Thrivent Financial Investments. Ideas for utility bill reduction will be presented by representatives from local utility companies. The seminar is free to the public.
