Thankful for support of Farmers' Market

Editor,

The Gravette Farmers Market had an exceptional season from April until November and farmers provided a greater array of locally produced vegetables and other fresh, nutritious foods. The market saw hundreds of people stopping by to visit and shop on several Saturdays and gained many new customers from Bella Vista and Bentonville.

We are especially proud to have helped provide free vegetables, fruits, breads and meat for more than fifty seniors through partnering once again with a grant program via Heather Friedrich at the University of Arkansas and through the Senior Nutrition Voucher Program with the NWA Area Agency on Aging.

We would like to thank all of the shoppers who came, our awesome farmers who spent many long hours growing food in and around Gravette, and our new bakers, artisan soap makers and woodworkers. Also, many thanks to the Old Town String Band for once again playing folk music many Saturdays.

We look forward to our eighth season in spring 2015 and, most importantly, we appreciate the community support in this local endeavor that grows more successful each year by drawing people from other towns, as well as helping more of our local residents.
